Allen George, 81, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was surrounded by his wife of 50 years, Bernadine George and sister-in-law, Nancy Bell.
Allen was born in East Omaha, Nebraska in 1939. In the early 1960's, he joined the army and frequently talked about being stationed in Hawaii during Peace Time. Allen made a career of furniture delivery. Working for companies like Montgomery Ward, JC Penney, and Goodwill. On November 26, 1970, he married the love of his life, Bernadine (Bernie) Baxter. In February 1974, Allen became the proud father of their only child, Judi Marie. Allen and Bernie moved to Bennington, NE in 1979. They continued to live there at the time of his passing. In November 2009, Allen became a grandpa to a beautiful baby girl named Sophia. Sophia and he would often argue like brother and sister.
Anyone that knew Allen understood his love of telling stories of the past. He enjoyed watching wrestling a few times a week. He also enjoyed telling jokes especially knock, knock jokes. His latest favorite jokes had something to do with an elephant and potfir. If you talked to Allen, you know what a potfir is. He always preferred a good comedy over a show with violence.
`Allen is survived by wife, Bernadine, daughter, Judi, and granddaughter Sophia of Bennington. Grandsons Scott and Conner Wilds of Omaha. Brother Ron (Betty) George Brother-in-law Jim (Barb) Baxter, Leonard (Cathy Porter) Baxter, and Chuck (Theresa) Baxter. Sister-in-law Margaret (John) Meurrens, Judy Rehn, Nancy Bell, and Carol George. Many nieces, nephews, and family friends, who Allen cared a lot about.
Preceded in death by Son-in-law Scott Wilds Sr, Brother Robert (Bob) George, and his parents.
