Preceded in death by her husband, David Sheets and a grandson, Mark Coffin.
Born in Spokane, WA to her parents, Charles, Sr. & Jennie being the 4thof 10 children, two of which survive her, Virginia Watters and Hugh McKenzie. She spent her early years in Oregon where she met David while he was serving in the military. They moved to Milford, NE in 1947 until moving to Kearney, NE where they lived until retiring to Raymond, NE in 1988 where she lived until 2016. Aside from her children and grandchildren, gardening and making floral arrangements were her lifelong passion. She also baked prize worthy cinnamon rolls and could decorate gifts that those receiving almost hated to open.
She is survived by her 3 children, Colleen Davis, Kearney, NE, Dale Sheets, Raymond, NE, and Karen McKenzie, Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, David Coffin, Lincoln, NE, Rachele Nelson, Topeka, KS, Erin Doell, Ft. Sill, OK, Shane Sheets, Lincoln, NE, Shawn Sheets, Lincoln, NE, Dana Riegel, Temple, TX, Denise Steele , Chicago, IL and 19 great grandchildren.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
