Gary Dean Ehrlich, 80, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.
Son of John and Marion Ehrlich, Gary was born in Fremont, Nebraska in 1937. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Jensen, in 1961 and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage. As a devoted family-man, he was very proud of the five daughters they raised.
Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia, and daughters: Christine Montel and husband Todd, Rochester, IN, Cynthia Ehrlich, Omaha, NE, Carolyn Touchton and husband Marc, Bellevue, NE, Courtney Cohen and husband Mark, Vancouver, WA, Chloe Hopkins and husband Kevin (currently serving in Afghanistan), Omaha, NE; six grandbabies, Justin Montel and wife Brittany, Jami Montel, Ashley Touchton, Garrett Touchton, Megan Cohen, and Rachel Cohen; four great-grandbabies, and many extended family members and friends.
His creativity of arranging and caring for plants and flowers led him to a thriving landscaping business. In his daily bib overall attire, he knew no stranger. Gary enjoyed researching bible history, Civil War history, metal detecting, fishing, old bottle collecting, and mushroom hunting.
Baptized in 1974 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, his faith guided his daily life. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 36th and Cornhusker, at 10AM Friday, June 16th with a private interment.
