Karen Kay Dusenberry, age 62, of Sac City, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha surrounded by her loved ones.
Karen was born on November 7, 1962, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to James and Joyce (Price) Klepper. On December 12, 1986, she married Rick Dusenberry. The couple began their life together in Lake Ozark, Missouri, where they welcomed their three children. They later moved to West Bend, Iowa, before settling in Sac City, where they have lived for over 30 years. Karen dedicated more than two decades of her career to Noble Popcorn.
Karen found joy in traveling, particularly on girls' trips with her cousin Jackie Burdette. She loved riding on the Harley, geocaching and munzeeing, and, above all, spending cherished moments with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to honor her memory are her husband of 38 years, Rick Dusenberry of Sac City; sons Chris Dusenberry of Sac City and Tony (Brittanie) Dusenberry of Lake City; daughter Nikki (Jake) Daniels of Estherville; seven grandchildren; brothers Jimmy (Penny) Klepper and John Klepper, both of West Bend. She also leaves behind three stepchildren, several step-grandchildren, and extended family members.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Joyce Klepper.
A Celebration of Life get-together will be held Saturday, January 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the South Park Shelter House in Sac City. Please come and share your memories and celebrate Karen's life with her family.
