Steven R. Jackson, age 66, passed away peacefully at VA Medical Center January 17, 2022 in Omaha, NE. He was born on March 19, 1955 in Omaha, NE, to Kenneth and Janice (Evans) Jackson. Steve married the love of his life Cari in Harrisonville, MO on November 17, 1978. The couple had four children, Amber (Ricky) Murphy of Omaha, Steven Jackson of Menifee, CA, Josi (Chris) Walters of Omaha, and Landon (Elizabeth) Jackson of Escondido, CA and were blessed with nine grandchildren.
Steve proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973-1976. During his service he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge. He served honorably in the Marines, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal.
After his time in the military, Steve worked in construction across the country until settling in his hometown of Omaha in 1993. He continued doing construction work until 2006 when declining health forced him to slow down.
Steve spent his time working on cars and being a jack of all trades handy man. He had a talent for DIY engineering. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping and socializing with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brother Larry Jackson, sisters and brother-in-law Jana Thurman and Lori (Kevin) Martinez, as well as many other loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Kenny Jackson and sister Cheryl Driggers.
